I didn't realize i was so far behind on the posts. We have been so busy that there wasn't much free time. Sometimes when we had time we didn't have an internet connection. We arrived in Fountain Colorado on the 11th of July. From the previous post you know we toured the wolf preserve the next day. we caught up on laundry and cleaning on the 13th. The other members of the caravan come into the campground on the 13th and 14th. Sunday night we all had dinner together and started to get to know each other.
Monday, July 15th our activities started with a ride to the top of Pikes Peak on the cog train. It is a 8000 foot climb to the top of the mountain at 14104 feet. We then had lunch at the Garden of the Gods which is a large park filled with beautiful rock formations.
Tuesday we toured the Air Force Academy and the Olympic Training Center. The Air Force Academy is in the foot hills of the mountains and it is a beautiful campus. The chapel is beautiful. The Olympic training center was interesting, it has facilities for swimming, wrestling, shooting, archery, track and gymnastics. Tuesday night we traveled to a chalet above Manitou Springs for dinner and a musical performance.
