Boston

7-15-2012 We arrived at Frosty Acres Campground Campground in Schenectady NY on Tueday afternoon. The route took us on some very curvy and hilly country roads. When we arrived at the entrance to the campground it was a 120 degree turn from a two lane country road onto a narrow driveway. The trees and the ditches didn't help. We had the road blocked for a few minutes while we pulled up and back several times to make the turn. GPS doesn't always tell you everything. We toured Albany New York and visited with Chris Patrick. We had a nice visit with Chris on Tuesday afternoon, we distracted her to the point she almost forgot her dog at the groomers. we took a tour of a WW II destroyer, USS Slater. Judy got to play with one of the three inch gobs on the ship. You will see the depth charges in the pictures. The sailors sure lived in cramped conditions. We took a two hour cruise on the Hudson River. We decided to stay an extra day at Frosty Acres to catch up on things. We have a hard time keeping up with computer tasks, cleaning and the laundry. The poor Internet connection didn't help. We also booked our next five stops. It seems that with the start of summer vacations the Campgrounds are much busier. We arrived at the Circle CG Campground in Bellingham Massachusetts on Friday and got set up on a nice wooded site. We are an hours train ride from downtown Boston. Saturday we rode the train to Boston and took a tour on a Duck. A Duck drives through the streets and then goes in the water. These Ducks are reproductions of the original Army vehicles built during WW II. We went past a lot of historic buildings. Our driver was a great guide. he had a lot of knowledge of the areas and buildings we went past. We then took a cruise on the Charles River. It is a little difficult to take pictures because the Duck doesn't stop. You will see in the pictures that Judy and I both got Duck tattoos. We rode the white Duck. Today we are going to Boston to see more of the City. Dick and Judy Albany Pictures Pictures from Chris's Boston
