We left home on 8-12-2014 heading west for our 2 month swing through the southwest. Our first stop was 341 miles down route 287 in Amarillo, Texas. We stayed at a nice RV park for three nights. We spent two days touring the Amarillo area. We visited Cadillac Ranch which consists of 8 Cadillacs buried front end first into the ground. Everyone who visits the site takes a can of spray paint out to paint on the cars.
We visited an air and space museum which had a number of old planes. We toured a small RV Museum at a local RV dealer. There was a lot old trailers, some had not been restored but were in good shape.
The American Quarter Horse Museum was very interesting.
We drove out to a national park that has off road trails and drove around for a couple of hours.We walked through many antique shops in the historic route 66 district.
