We have been so busy touring Canada that i have not had time to do the blog, We started our trip in Bar Harbor Maine on June 22 and finished it on August 12 in Cavendish, on Prince Edward Island. It was quite a trip. It included a 6 hour ferry ride and a 12 hour ferry ride where we put the coach on large ferry boats. In addition we took 8 ferry rides with the car.
We left Cavendish on the 12th and travel to St. Anthony in New Brunswick. We stayed one night and the traveled to Freeport, Maine where we stayed two nights. Lots of store to shop in including L.L.Bean. We then traveled to Bristol, CT where we are now..
We are heading for Virginia to meet another couple and tour the area for 3 or 4 weeks.

OK so here's The List: of what we did. We saw humpbacks, fins, minkes, and dolphins. We fished for cod. We stood where Eric the Red stood 1000 years before. We shared a Viking Feast. We saw icebergs, circumnavigated icebergs, and tasted iceberg beer. We stood at Cape Spear, the easternmost place in North America. We visited 5 Provinces: New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, PEI, and Quebec. We saw the "flowerpot rocks" and experienced the world's highest tides in the Bay of Fundy. We saw a tidal bore, and a tidal generator. We learned of the Loyalists, the Basques, the Miq-maq, the Acadians, the Scots, and the Irish who settled Atlantic Canada. We got "Screeched In", kissed the cod, and played the ugly stick. We went to a local dinner theater, the International Halifax Tattoo, Anchors Away, Mama Mia, and enjoyed a "kitchen party". We experienced Cape Enrage, Gros Morne, Bird Island, Reversing Falls, and the Irish Loop. We saw eagles, loons, osprey, herons, and puffins. We examined 500,000,000 years of sedimentary rock turned on end. We visited Peggy's Cove during the art festival. We ate mooseburgers, lobster, scallops, and mussels. |
