Catching up on our travels

8-26-2012
I wrote a post a week ago but apparently it didn't post. I have not been on the blog since then because we have not had good internet connects in the locations we have been in. So to catch up we left Michigan on the  12Th and drove to to Decatur Indiana to Sullivan RV to get some warranty items taken care of and our side mirror fixed. We parked at the RV dealer on Sunday night and they began work Monday morning. By the end of the day on Tuesday they had fixed most items but we had to wait for parts.

We left Wednesday morning (8-15) and drove to a nice campground in Howe Indiana. Wednesday afternoon we got flowers for Darlene's grave and her Mother's grave and took them to the cemetery. We stopped to visit Mary Lou and Lyle Prough. I  called an old friend, Mike McElroy, and we drove to Orland to visit he and his wife.

Thursday we drove to Nappanee to tour the Newmar factory where our RV was built. It was a good tour, we got to get up close to the Amish workers building new motor homes. They do everything by hand and they build most of the components there. We had lunch in an Amish restaurant and then visited with the Newmar customer service people.

Thursday afternoon we drove to South Bend and visited Jeff and Jackie and Micheal, Elizabeth and Kaitlin.
Kaitlin starts kindergarten in a few days so she was excited. The other two are in high school. We then drove   to meet Kim at her new house where she is moving in with Kat.

During the afternoon we got a call from the RV dealer, telling us our parts were in. So Friday morning we drove back to Decatur to get the parts installed. While they were working on the RV, Judy went in to town and got her nails done. By early afternoon the RV was ready so we left for Greenfield, IN which is just east of Indianapolis.

I'll continue with the next chapter as soon as I get another cup of coffee.
