It has been a couple of days since last post but we have been busy demolitioning rooms.
The barn cement crew finally arrived at 6:00 am on the 27th. It was very, very cold but fun to watch. They had large flood lights to see with. The cement trucks came in and were attached to the cement boom unit. There was a foreman who ran the boom with a remote control box. He could move the boom anywhere he needed the cement and then would pour it through the boom.
The rest of the days were very busy.
The HVAC guys came in and took out all the old duct work in the ceiling. They put in the second heating unit in the ceiling. It is the new best thing to do instead of putting it in a closet. They suspend it from the overhead roof rafters. They put in all the new duct work and duct plates in the ceilings. They also delivered the second a/c unit.
The plumber needed to come back and install a bigger gas line since we had to add the second heating unit. He also started putting in the copper plumbing rough-ins. We also had him install a line to the patio for the large grill. Neat huh?
On the 28th we had them deliver a mini storage unit so we could empty out all our stuff so we could work on the office, guest bedroom and garage areas. Almost everything fit. Dick's large tool boxes, the fireproof large four drawer safe and his air compressor went into one of Keith's buildings. They also moved the stove (which has now been sold to one of the workers) and the refrigerator (going in the barn) to the same building.
The garage door crew came in and removed the old doors. We are changing to one door instead of two. Dick starting demolition on the garage.
Judy did the demolition on her smaller closet off the large closet so that the HVAC crew could install the pipes for the a/c units in the wall instead off along the outside of the house.
On the 29th the door guy came to the house and verified all the door sizes and whether the door is a right hand door or a left hand door. It depends on whether the door opens in or out and which side the door knob is on.
Last night we had a really bad thunder and rain storm. The concrete slab is pretty level as effident of the way the water puddled on it and there was no water inside the house (Yeah!!!!!)
Judy's next step is to pick out the paint colors and order the major appliances.
till later
