Travels for the last few Weeks

June 18,2013

We left Texas on the day after Memorial Day and headed North to Falcon Colorado. It was a 740 mile trip that we did in two days. The camp ground we stayed at was a small camp ground about one mile from Julie's house(Judy's daughter). We stayed there for two weeks. The Friday night after we got there we went to Aron's graduation from the El Paso County Sheriff's Academy. He is now a Deputy Sheriff. Unfortunately he injured his ACL two weeks before so he had to have surgery last week. He is home recovering but it will take awhile before he can actually start work.

We did baby sit the three grand kids three of four times and had a great time. One day we went to the Cheyenne Zoo which was very nice but very hilly. We got to feed the Graffias, you will see them in the pictures. The camona  dragon, gorillas and the grizzly bear were pretty neat.

The Black Forest fire started the day before we left. The pictures were taken just a few hours after the fire started. The camp ground was over full when we left with evacuees and people who had lost their homes.

We stayed at Chatfield State Park  after we left Falcon and drove over to Bailey to see Ron and Lois.
We then traveled north to Longmont, CO which is just north of Boulder. Janice and Jorden came up to the RV park and we went out to dinner. It was good to see them both.

We left Longmont on Saturday and drove 340 miles to Gillette, WY. We will be here for the FMCA convention until this Sunday. We then leave to meet up with the caravan we are going on for 14 days.

Not much internet in this part of the Country so it's hard to say when we post again.

If you didn't see the news on the Black Forest fire, it burned 420 homes and about 18,000 acres. It took 5 days to get the fire 85 percent contained. at one time they had evacuated 38,000 people.
