Greeting to all,

August 9,2018 we started on our next adventure. It was a great adventure as you will see. Our first destination was Sand Dunes at Silver Lake, Michigan. We stayed overnight near Memphis and then in Kankakee, IL on our way to Silver Lake. We spent two days playing in the sand dunes.
Our next stop was Traverse City, Michigan where we meant up with Gary and Natalie Bradley. We spent ten days in Traverse City, We toured eight wineries on the Old Mission Peninsula. Judy replenished her wine stock ( 30 bottles) for the rest of the trip. Gary introduced me to a fast food restaurant called Culvers. Their claim to fame is a frozen custard called a concrete mixer. You have a choice of two things to add to the mixer, things like brownie chips, peanut butter chips, chocolate syrup and many other items. I can't tell you how many I had since we found Culvers in three or four cities we were in. We traveled with the Bradley s for the rest of our trip.

Our next stop was Soo Ste. Marie, Michigan. It is always fun to watch the big freighters g through the locks. We also toured an old church and four historic houses right on the river.

Our next stop was Ishpeming, Michigan which is on the west side of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Natalie grew up there and her 93 year old mother still lives. We spent 19 days there while Natalie did things for her Mother and the rest of us relaxed and tried to stay out of trouble. We did visit an old cooper mine and the Cooper Museum. This area produced a lot of cooper at one time. Most of the mines are now closed.

I am going to post this and will try to get the rest of our trip posted this week.
