To back track just a little, the link labeled Aztec is where we stayed from the time the household items were picked up until we left for Texas. It was a very upscale RV resort. Please see the pictures.
Anyway. We are safe in Texas. We are living in the RV while all the restoration is being done. Judy got her first taste of pulling down drywall. She said is was a lot of fun.
We have discovered that the wiring and the plumbing in the house is all bad. So we are replacing everything; pricey but worth it in the long run. We've decided to remove all the propane "appliances" except for the furnace (which is relatively new). Everything is being converted to electric.
We have not picked out the flooring in the main house, master bedroom and game room, the office and the guest bedroom, the bathroom and kitchen fixtures, the lighting throughout the house. We then picked out the master bathroom floor and shower tiling. We have also picked out the countertops and kitchen cabinets. Judy had a really fun time picking out all the stuff. We still have to pick out appliances and wall paint.
Today they have started to dig under the house for the new plumbing. Tuesday they will start with the electric and putting in the foundation forms for the house addition and RV "barn".
In the meantime we have registered all the vehicles in Texas and got our Texas drivers license (including taking written and driving test for the special RV license). We are now fully Texas residents.
We will give you all further updates as they happen.
