We leave tomorrow for Bandera, Texas. We enjoyed our last week on South Padre Island. Yesterday we took a boat ride down to the Brownsville shipyard. We saw the USS Forester aircraft carrier and 5 other navy vessels being scarped. Sorry there are not any pictures but we were not allowed to take pictures in the ship yard. We saw the shrimp boats and stopped to get some wild shrimp. There is a big difference in the taste of the wild gulf shrimp and the farm raised shrimp you get in other part of the country. The beach was nice today but the fishing wasn't very good, too much wind and too many weeds. Last Tuesday it was cold, rainy and windy, the surf came in so far that there wasn't any beach to drive on.
We went out to dinner one night and had a good shrimp dinner. The dogs love the beach.
